Echomatica are a New Zealand indie alternative rock band based in Auckland, with an evocative sound that blends lush, layered guitars over synth loops with heartfelt, reverb-soaked vocals.

Singer/songwriter Charlie MacLean, guitarists Matt Chong and AJ & bassist Scott Samson (formerly of Rimu) first got together playing an eclectic mix of acoustic campfire covers that quickly progressed to collaborating on original material with a distinctive sound, influenced by a wide range of artists from Joy Division, Siouxsie & The Banshees and M83 to retro-futurist synth pop and shoegaze dreampop.
